Pastor Morris was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and through the grace of God saved there also in 1970 at 14 years of age. He has, from the first week of salvation, been concerned about the souls of lost men, women, boys and girls. His preaching is heavy on application and evangelistic in presentation.
Pastor Morris started out in ministry in 1982, his first church was LaVale Bible Church in Maryland. In 1984 he planted Victory Independent Baptist Church in Connecticut, since that time he has pastored churches in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Minnesota, Tennessee, Texas, Nevada, and Idaho as well as here in Edmonton Alberta. So, with over 42 years of Senior pastor experience. He has been Senior Pastor of churches as large as 1,300 plus members, started two Christian Schools and been active in the communities in which the churches were located.
Pastor Morris has planted churches in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Texas, and here in Edmonton. He has two bachelors degrees (BMin., ThB.) and a masters (ThM.). He has also taken part in many seminars on church growth. “If your church isn’t growing, its dying,” is a firm belief in his heart.
Pastor Morris has taken several evangelistic/mission trips to India. Preached county wide crusades and local church revival meetings. He was trained in evaluating how churches could reach out and grow spiritually as well as numerically. Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost, and the church should be about that also.
Pastor Morris is not a Calvinist nor an Armenian in his theology, he likes to say that he is a Biblicist. 1 Peter says, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
Married to the only woman (Patricia) he ever asked God for, they make a great ministry team. Trish enjoys being involved with the women of the church, teaching ladies studies, craft classes and encouraging the women of the church to have a closer walk with Jesus. Trish also loves to paint and is an excellent baker and chef. She competed in the World Food Championship (desserts) in Las Vegas (2015).
Pastor and Mrs. Morris would like to give you a personal invitation to be our guests at Liberty Baptist at your earliest convenience.
